Big s(PENN)der: U. of Pennsylvania impact $9.5B a year in Phila.: "The University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Health System spend $14 billion a year, or $38 million per day, in Pennsylvania and $9.5 billion, or $26 million per day, in Philadelphia, according to a report released Wednesday.
The report was prepared by Econsult Corp., an economic consulting firm that, like Penn, is based in Philadelphia’s University City section. It used data from financial statements from the 2010 fiscal year.
