Mubarak stays

Mubarak stays: "

Laura Rozen:

Hosni Mubarak told Egyptians Thursday that he planned to stay on until presidential elections in September to oversee constitutional reforms.

“I am totally determined and adamant to fulfill all the promises genuinely honestly and seriously,” Mubarak said in a live Egyptian state television address, to increasingly angry shouts from thousands of shocked protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square who had earlier anticipated his resignation. “I am totally keen on implementing all these promises with no return backwards.”

"He must leave, he must leave!" protesters shouted from Cairo's Tahrir Square, taking off their shoes to shake at him in a gesture of insult.

This is, it's safe to say, drowning out the rest of the day's news, even here. Rob Mackey's also been doing a great job on The Lede, if you're looking for another place to hit refresh.
